What Hot Handoff is
Hot Handoff is a private network where members hand each other work they cannot cover. We introduce members to each other and charge a fee for it.
We do not employ anyone. We do not do any of the work. We are not part of the agreement between you and your client.
- 2
Who can be here
By invitation only. You need a code from a member. One code, one person, and it stops working the moment it is used.
You must be allowed to work, and allowed to do the kind of work you take on.
- 3
You are your own business
Every member here is an independent business. You agree your own price with your client, you do your own work, you handle your own taxes, and you answer for what happens while you are doing it.
- 4
What it costs
When you take a job you pay Hot Handoff a fee to see the client’s contact details, and you pay the member who posted it their referral fee. Both amounts are on the job before you take it.
Fees are paid outside the app, by Zelle, and confirmed by a person. Nothing is charged automatically.
- 5
Handing over a client
Whoever posts a job says whether the client goes with it for good or only for that one job. Taking a one-job handoff does not make that client yours.
This is an agreement between the two members. Your client is a person, not property, and they choose who cleans their house.
- 6
Damage, loss and injury
If something is damaged, something goes missing, or somebody is hurt while a job is being done, that is between the member doing the work, the client, and their insurance.
Hot Handoff does not insure you, does not cover losses and does not pay claims. We strongly recommend you carry general liability insurance and a janitorial bond before you take work from anyone, here or anywhere.
- 7
We do not check anyone
An invitation means one member vouched for another. It is not a background check.
We do not verify identity, criminal history, immigration status, licences, insurance or skill. Decide for yourself who you hand a client to, and ask them for what you need to see.
- 8
Your client’s details
When you post a job you give us your client’s name, phone number and address, so that whoever takes it can get there and do the work.
Only you and the one member who paid for that job can see it. Do not post a client’s details without their knowledge, and do not use what you are shown here for anything except that job.
- 9
Suspension
We can suspend or remove any member at any time, including because another member reported them. Who invited whom stays visible.
- 10
What we do not promise
The service is what it is. We do not promise you jobs, income, that a posted job is real, that a member will pay what they owe, or that the app will be working when you need it.
As far as the law allows, Hot Handoff and its owner are not liable for any loss that comes out of using it.

Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Minnesota.

Changes
These will change as the network grows. The date at the top is when they last did.
